A long peninsula-like wall stretches out from the main castle and ends with an observations post.  This tower was used to watch for enemies in the fertile valley below and along the mountains foothills.  A tunnel connects the tower to the castle.  A walkway runs along the top of the castle wall.

Tourists to Assisi can enjoy spectacular views of the Umbia valley, mountains and towns from this magnificent viewpoint.  It should not be missed!
